Akron Feis | Club Volunteers Needed

Our sponsor, the AOH Mark Heffernan Div. #2 (Brown Street), has asked for our assistance once again for the Akron Feis, an annual dance competition, at the Summit County Fairgrounds in Tallmadge.

  • Friday, May 26th - 4 pm (or whatever time you can come after work)
  • Sunday May 28th - Immediately after practice (practice will be held at the fairgrounds to make it easy for volunteers)

They need help unloading, assembling, and tearing down their stages used in the competition. Bring your power tools and help out. Food and beverages are usually provided to the volunteers! We always have a good time, and the more people that come, the faster the "work" goes.

City Series Game 2: Ray's Gets Redemption!

E-mail Print PDF

On a very rainy, wet, and muddy day, Ray’s pulled through for a victory over Frank’s in very poor field conditions. After a very slow start to the game, with no points scored in the first 7 minutes, Frank’s came out aggressive taking a very early lead scoring two quick goals. However, the day was not be theirs, as a re-group at halftime saw a restructured and rejuvenated Ray’s kick off the second half with three quick goals in succession to grab their first lead of the match.

Field conditions proved to be the ultimate factor, with miss-cues and difficult handling of the sliotar made some usual runs impossible. It became much more aggressive and Ray’s showed both determination and grit despite the elements.

With the series tied at 1 game each, the teams will get next weekend off for Father’s Day to regroup and hit the series hard on June 22nd!

Final Score:

Frank’s Place: 5-9

Ray’s Pub: 9-3
