Hurling is an outdoor team sport of ancient Gaelic origin and played with sticks and a ball. The game, played primarily in Ireland, is arguably the world's fastest field team sport in terms of game play and is Ireland's national sport. We're currently looking for people that are interested in playing the great game of hurling.

Akron Celtic Guards Outdoor Hurling & Camogie Season
Come watch or try your hand at the National Sport of Ireland, Hurling and Camogie (ladies hurling) with the Akron Celtic Guards. Hurling combines the skills of baseball, hockey, and lacrosse in one high speed, high scoring, high octane sport that will blow you away. The game, is arguably the world's fastest field team sport in terms of game play.

All Sunday practices and matches are FREE and open to the public to watch. Great way to spend a Sunday outdoors with friends and family. We're currently looking for new male and female players of all ages, interested in playing the great game of hurling and/or camogie. No experience necessary! All ages and skill levels welcome! The team will provide all necessary equipment.

2017 USGAA Midwest Championship Series | Junior C Hurling

Witness the USGAA Junior C hurling Championship series between the Akron Celtic Guards vs Pittsburgh Pucas, as they battle it out for the Midwest Division Title. (Best of 3 series)

Match 1
Akron Celtic Guards took home the win on Sat. June 3, 2017 with a 1-10 over Pittsburgh Pucas 0-11

Match 2 - Sat. July 15, 2017 @ 1pm

Pittsburgh Pucas will be traveling to Akron for Match 2. FREE event, open to the public.

Warm-Up 12pm (ACG Men's GAA players must be dressed and on the field ready to warm up)

Match 3 - USGAA Midwest Championships Sat. Aug 12 - Sun. Aug 13, 2017 - Schedule TBD

Follow the Akron Celtic Guards to Pittsburgh to watch the third match of the series and find out who will be names Midwest Champion. Open to public $10 cover charge.

2017 City Series | Inter-Club Matches

Akron Celtic Guards City Series is a co-ed inter-league series of hurling matches. Matches will begin at 2pm following practice. All matches are FREE and open to the public to watch. Great way to spend a Sunday outdoors with friends and family.

Akron Celtic Guards Picnic | Food Fun Updates

ACG PicnicThe club will be hosting a picnic in lieu of practice (2000 Brown Street, Akron, OH). Hot dogs and Burgers will be provided. Please bring a side to share. Cash Bar. Free to all Club Members, and a $5/adult $2/kid donation for family and friends. There will be important Ireland updates and discussions.
